Rising Tide Post Blockade Celebration Picnic (Come Celebrate, All Welcome, whether you went or not)
– Tainmuntilla (Botanic Park), opposite the Friends Gate, Plane Tree Drive
The 2025 People’s Blockade is going to be huge, as people from around the country travel to Newcastle to make waves at the world’s largest coal port! However, this is not the end, it’s a jumping off point to continue our fight for an end to new coal and gas projects and a phase out of coal exports. Whether or not you made it to the 2025 People’s Blockade, this picnic is an opportunity to debrief the exciting stories from the Blockade with people in your area, get involved in Rising Tide, and plan and stay connected as we continue the action in 2026. Snacks and non alcoholic drinks will be provided. Please RSVP below so we can cater for everyone. This is a family friendly event so bring along your kids and leave any alcohol at home. |

Dance for Climate Action! Join Our Rising Tide Fundraising Ceilidh
– Waterside Workers Hall
Dear friends, dancers, and changemakers, You’re warmly invited to an unforgettable night of music, laughter, and dancing at the Rising Tide Fundraising Ceilidh! Whether you’re a seasoned ceilidh spinner or have two left feet, this is a night for everyone to come together in the name of climate justice. Why are we dancing? We’re raising funds to subsidise transport for as many people as possible to get to The People’s Blockade at the World’s Biggest Coal Port this November. It’s going to be one of the most powerful climate actions of the year – and we want to make sure it’s accessible to all. Who’s welcome? EVERYONE! Climate change affects all of us – across generations, cultures, and communities – so we want this event to reflect that diversity. We provide a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ folks, gender non-conforming people, First Nations peoples, children, families, elders, and anyone who cares about a fairer, safer future. What to wear? Dress for dancing! We suggest comfy clothes, plenty of layers (you will get warm but parts of this venue are chilly!) and sensible shoes for bouncing around. What to bring? A water bottle Your dancing spirit Cash or card if you’d like to buy drinks at our licensed bar; buy snacks or make a donation |
